And… We’re go!

The race has started here at the Nüburgring Nordschleife circuit for the 24-hour race that everyone has been looking forward to. The conditions are rather greasy with bit of drizzle coming down every so often.

It was quite a thrill walking down the pit straight at this legendary circuit. The stands are packed to the rims, even though it’s really quite chilly outside. The busy pit lane shifted on to the track while the cars were lining up on the grid before the off.

Marshals did… well, what their job titles say. They were herding all the fans and personnel away from the pit exit so that we don’t get hit by cars shooting out of the pit lanes. Just imagine, there are some 200 or so cars, all making their way to the grid, including the personnel. On top of that, you have the rest of us (media, fans, etc). It got really crowded, really quickly.

When I passed through the paddocks, the sound through the valley was incredible. It’s just buzzing with engine roars drowning the general noise of the paddocks.

We will keep you updated as the 24-hour race progresses today. Keep watching because we will bring you an exclusive interview a little later with a GAZOO Racing driver, who also happens to have won this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Good luck to the GAZOO Racing Team!
