Ready, set, GO… 24 Hours Nürburgring

GAZOO Racing team members

The time has come for the 40th ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring race. Together with GAZOO Racing, Toyota and Lexus will be fielding no less than five cars at the fearsome 25-kilometre track. From Japan, GAZOO Racing has entered two race-prepared Toyota GT86 vehicles and one racing Lexus LFA. From Europe, Toyota Swiss Racing Team is putting a further two Toyota GT86 vehicles prepared by Toyota Motorsport GmbH – you will know them for spearheading our Le Mans entry this year – to the test at the Green Hell.

Seasoned endurance racing drivers will join Toyota Motor Corp. employees at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, taking part as technicians, mechanics and drivers. Toyota believes that by putting its employees through the paces at the racetrack will give them a chance to hone their skills and craftsmanship. This way, they can continue delivering ever-better products to our customers.

GAZOO Racing Toyota GT86 and Lexus LFA

In the previous VLN2 and VLN3 races, the GAZOO Racing Lexus LFA has already clocked up two class victories while the GAZOO Racing Toyota GT86 show promising progress during the two shorter distance races.

Speaking after the VLN3 race, GAZOO Racing drive Akira Iida commented: The momentum of our team is very good. Our target for the 24 Hours Nürburgring race is to maintain a steady pace, which is how we chose to set up our cars. Nevertheless, we ran at good speeds and we are confident to be fully ready before the 24-hour race.”

Toyota Swiss Racing Team will join GAZOO on the world-famous Eifel circuit with two TMG prepared Toyota GT86 vehicles. Both cars will compete in the V3 class (as opposed to the GAZOO Racing GT86 in SP3) for production models.
