We’re all gearing up for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show starting early next month. Our line-up this year will demonstrate the success of our “Always Making Better Cars” philosophy. Click through to see what we’ll be bringing along to the Palexpo.
Three world premieres for Toyota
This one will surely excite motoring enthusiasts. The FT-86 Open concept will make its world premiere in Geneva, demonstrating a whole new level of driving pleasure. The concept is a sneak peek of a possible future variant of our multi-award-winning Toyota GT86 sports coupé. Geneva will be an opportunity for us to gauge customer reaction. Imagine drifting around with the wind in your hair… Definitely one to make Jeremy Clarkson smile.
The second of our three world premieres this year is the TOYOTA i-ROAD, a compact, fun and emission-free personal mobility concept. The i-ROAD is capable of transporting two people efficiently around the city. Wait until you see what we have planned at the show itself (hint: check back here).
At last year’s Paris Motor Show we launched the new Toyota Auris. At the time, the Auris Touring Sports was still a preview. Next month, it’ll make a full debut in Geneva along with all the specs and performance details. Uniquely for the segment, the Auris Touring Sports will also be offered with our efficient full hybrid powertrain with class-leading CO2 emissions of just 86 g/km. In its new station wagon guise, the Auris Touring Sports combines dynamic design with superior luggage capacity.
We’ll also have a design study on show, Auris Touring Sports “Black”.
Europe will get its first look at the New RAV4 in Geneva. Now in its fourth generation, having created the compact crossover SUV segment nearly two decades ago, the New RAV4 builds on the model’s pioneering heritage to reflect a stronger emphasis on family use. The New RAV4 offers distinctive styling, refined interior design quality, greater efficiency and enhancements to the all-wheel drive system.
The New RAV4 will also come with two design studies, RAV4 “Premium” and RAV4 “Adventure”.
Creating Amazing at Lexus
From Lexus, the all-new full hybrid Lexus IS 300h will make its European debut in Geneva. The entire IS model range has been redesigned combining aggressive elegance with a powerful road presence. The IS 300h will also be available with an F SPORT package featuring bespoke exterior and interior design cues and more sport driving dynamics.
This next one I can’t wait to see next month. The Opal Blue LF-LC Concept is coming to Geneva! The last time we saw this design concept for a hybrid 2+2 sports coupe at Geneva 2012, it was wearing a beautiful red. Since then, at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in October, the second version of the concept was given its new Opal Blue inspired by the semi-precious gemstones found in the Australian outback.
Completing the Lexus display will be the entire Lexus F SPORT full hybrid range.
Keep an eye out for our 2013 Geneva Motor Show coverage next month to see the newly designed Lexus stand – inspired by Lexus’ design philosophy and provides an ideal showcase for the new look, luxury and technology of Lexus vehicles – in Europe for the first time.
In the meantime check out Palexpo’s webcams and see our stands take shape over the next few weeks.
