Less than 2 years after Toyota first revealed its i-ROAD concept vehicle. Now we are showing much improved 2-seater version of the Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV). And it`s a European debut for the little one at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Toyota`s philosophy behind the Personal Mobility Vehicles is to create a new form of transportation – more flexible, more comfortable, weather-proof, more stable and safer than scooters and motorcycles.
i-ROAD is a zero emission vehicle as it drives, its running electric costs and low, it is compact – 4 i-ROADS occupy the same footprint as a conventional passenger car.
The improvements of new i-ROAD include waterproof design, increased user friendliness, slightly smaller size.
It leans like a skier!
Key to the higher levels of stability, safety, comfort and enjoyment accompanying Toyota i-ROAD`s driving experience is Toyota’s new, entirely intuitive ‘Active Lean’ technology.
Operating in conjunction with rear-wheel steering via a conventional steering wheel, the Active Lean system features a lean actuator motor and gearing mounted above the front suspension member, linked via a yoke to the left and right front wheels.
It is not only smart, environmental friendly and compact personal mobility vehicle, it’s also crazy fun!
