Last month, Toyota Motor Corporation announced the GAZOO Racing entry for this year’s 24 Hours Nürburgring Race. Our Japanese outfit will once again tackle the Green Hell with two race-prepared Toyota 86 (marketed as the Toyota GT86 in Europe) and one Lexus LFA. Click through the break to see the first pictures.
In 2012, our two teams of GAZOO Racing and Toyota Swiss Racing stormed through to pick up an unprecedented triple class win at the massive 25 kilometre-per-lap circuit nestled in the Eifel Mountains in Germany. GAZOO Racing’s Lexus LFA topped its SP8 class (and finished 15th overall) while team’s #166 Toyota 86 won in the SP3 class. Our European-based Toyota Swiss Racing crew went on to finish first in the V3 class with one of their Toyota Motorsport GmbH prepared Toyota GT86.
For GAZOO, the 41st 24 Hours Nürburgring will be the seventh time the team has raced at the Nürburgring since 2007. As always the team will be composed of employee mechanics, giving them an extraordinary opportunity to hone their skills and work in the challenging motorsport environment.
This year’s race weekend goes through from May 17 with the race ending on May 20. Follow us here and on Twitter for our live race report and all the latest from the Green Hell.
